First night with new Fifth Graders (spoilers)

First of all, I agree now with others who have said we'd made too many discussion folders (or whatever they should be called) here, so I'd have no objection if this one was merged into the "Everything Else" folder.

So, we've been introduced to the new class. It appears that the nationwide tour was principly to compile a tape of entertaining clips similar to when AI puts the awful contestants on air. So the kids were encouragned to dress up in costume--did they really think they'd be cast like that?

From the bios, three of the kids live in So Cal, one lives in Chicago, and one is "a native" of Colorado. Does that mean his family has moved to California now? No word how many had AFTRA cards before being cast.

Bravo to Nathan, for being the only one there to get the hydrogen answer.

As for the contestant...

1. How many times did Jeff make a big deal of her being the youngest contestant ever on the show? How is that an achievement, when they're cast for completely subjective reasons?

2. The "French are Military Failures" meme strikes again! Obviously, France could never have lasted in a Hundred Years War.
