Since it seems to be decided that we want to use phpBB for our new Bored, the question remaining is where should it be hosted?

Please vote for your choice!

Bob, I know you're trying to run a fair poll, but as Eyegor has noted, people who vote here are most likely to vote for this site.

Polling results will depend on how the choices are phrased. We could do a different poll, possibly on a different site and offer choices like this:

Where do you think the board should be hosted?

1) On a fly-by-night free site that might go out of business at any time and doesn't support key functions, such as search

2) On a site where we control the future of the board and support all available functions, including search, and which can be set up to look exactly like the megabb.com board or the Grand Slam board

It's all in the wording of the poll.

Many people have made it clear that they really don't care about trying to make a smart decision now so we don't have to go through this all over again in the future. They just want a quick solution that ends the uncertainty and hassle ASAP. If that's what people want, then I should probably go away and accept the path of least resistance. I've been looking for the best solution, not necessarily the most expedient one.
