I had a feeling the audience would go for a distractor here. And this is a classic example of when to pay attention to a significant second place spike. Surely, more people have heard of the Rockefeller and Ford foundations than MacArthur, so why would so many people vote for D if they didn't know what they were doing?

Nice of Meredith to write her a note - I wonder if Vena invited her boss to her viewing party (if she had one)?

$16K - The "genius grants" are mentioned on NPR once in a while, so I knew this one. I figured the audience might not, but was surprised at how strong the audience percentage was. This is one of those "strong second" occasions, but Vena may not have known about that. Had she known she might have used another lifeline and stayed in the game.
